Gabriel Jesus Agrees to New Improved Manchester City Contract
Manchester City and Brazil international Gabriel Jesus has reportedly agreed to a new huge contract with the club that promises to more than double his current wages and tie him down until 2023. According to report from Goal.com, the 20-year-old forward is set to pocket in the region of £150,000-per-week from his new deal, with various add-ons bonuses set to inflate his pay packet even more. The report adds that an official confirmation from the club is expected at some point in the new year.
It is said that Pep Guardiola’s Man City side have generally been interested to secure new contracts for all their top assets before the World Cup in Russia comes in and Jesus seems to be part of that despite only formally joining the Premier League leaders in January of this year.
He will star for Brazil at the tournament and Jesus’ profile, having already set the Premier League on fire in 11 months, could well and truly impress with a strong performance for the Brazil national side.
He forms part of a deadly Selecao attacking unit alongside Neymar and Philippe Coutinho and Brazil are one of 10bet favourites to lift a record of sixth World Cup trophy.
For Man City, Jesus has netted eight time in 16 City’s Premier League fixtures so far this season, as well as two goals in the Champions League. Only his City teammates Raheem Sterling (15) and Sérgio Agüero (13) have scored more often in their side shirt across all competitions.
The Brazilian remains one of the youngest in Guardiola’s senior City squad, with Tosin Adarabioyo, Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden the only younger players to start a game this season.
